tert-Butyl methyl ether GC is a clear, colorless, and odorless liquid. It is a volatile organic liquid with a subtle minty scent. This compound has limited solubility in water and a chemical formula of C5H12O. TBME is produced through the chemical reaction between methanol and isobutylene. It is also known by various names such as MTBE, MTB, TBME, 2-Methoxy-2-methylpropane, and methyl tert-butyl ether. tert-Butyl methyl ether GC grade is specifically formulated for gas chromatography applications.
