Acetonitrile GC is a clear, colorless liquid. It is an aliphatic nitrile compound with an ether-like scent and a sweet, burnt flavor. Acetonitrile is commonly known as Methyl Cyanide (MeCN). With a chemical formula of CH₃CN and a structure of H₃C−C≡N, it is soluble in water. Acetonitrile is primarily a byproduct of acrylonitrile production.
